Electric vehicles (EVs) have gained significant popularity in recent years as a sustainable and efficient mode of transportation. As with any complex machinery, EVs may experience faults or issues that require diagnosis, service, and maintenance. This workshop aims to explore the various aspects involved in fault diagnosis, service, and maintenance of electric vehicles.
Fault diagnosis in electric vehicles requires specialized diagnostic equipment for hardware components like the battery management system, electric motor controller, power electronics, charging system, and other critical parts. Software tools are used to analyze error codes, sensor readings, and system logs. Collecting and analyzing data from the onboard diagnostics (OBD) system provides insights for fault detection, diagnosis, system monitoring, and maintenance optimization. Regular service and maintenance involve monitoring battery health, managing charging cycles, and ensuring optimal performance through battery balancing, cell voltage monitoring, and thermal management. Electric motor and power electronics systems require inspection, lubrication, connection checks, and cooling maintenance. Charging infrastructure should be regularly inspected and maintained, including charging stations, cables, connectors, and related components. Proper maintenance and servicing ensure long-term reliability and sustainability of electric vehicles.
Therefore, the objective of this two-day workshop is to address the various fault diagnosis methods and the solutions to those faults. Also, demonstration will be done.
